Deborah Toppi

Deborah Toppi, Beloved wife of Celeste Chagnon, passed away at her Somerset residence surrounded by her loving family on March 23, 2023 following an extended illness. She was 65.

Born in Somerville on January 13, 1958 she was a daughter of the late Albert and Catherine (Coppola) Toppi. 

Debbie grew up in Somerville and attended Somerville schools. She also was a graduate from the university of Lowell with a degree in electrical engineering. Debbie was employed at Raytheon in Tewksbury for many years.

Deb enjoyed spending time with family and friends and loved crafts, gardening photography, and cooking.

Surviving Deb besides Celeste her wife of 13 years are her sisters, Cathy and her husband Normand Ouellette, Rita Toppi, and her partner Connie Gauthier; a brother Albert; a stepson Christopher Chagnon and his wife Sarah; a stepdaughter, Dr. Holly Gagnon  and her husband Eric; her sister-in-law Stephanie Toppi; three step grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins. She was also the twin sister of the late Dennis Toppi, sister  Marie Toppi, and brother Michael Toppi.

Relatives and friends are invited to Deb‘s Life Celebration at the McKenna-Ouellette Funeral Home 327 Hildreth St., Lowell  from 11 until 1 PM on Friday, April 7, 2023. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations in Deb‘s name may be made to the Southcoast VNA, 200 Mill Rd. Suite 120 Fairhaven MA 02719 or the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452
