Dawn M. Desmarais

April 11, 1969 — August 2, 2017

Dawn M. Desmarais, beloved mother of Jaden Desmarais, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at the Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, Maine following an extended illness. She was 48.

Dawn was born in Middletown, Connecticut, on April 11, 1969, a daughter of the late Alice (Woods) Desmarais and Richard Desmarais of Searsport, Maine, who survives her.

She was educated in the Westbrook, Connecticut schools and was a 1987 graduate of Westbrook High School. Dawn went on to work in the travel and hospitality industry in New Haven and in Florida, where she lived for 15 years.

Nine years ago she relocated to Searsport, Maine and became the manager of the Chocolate Drop Candy Shop in Belfast, Maine until her illness forced her retirement.

Dawn was an avid New England Patriots and NASCAR fan. She looked forward to visits with her old friends in Connecticut and Florida, and loved cruising with friends and Jaden. November 2017 was to be her 17th cruise. Most of all, however, she enjoyed goofing around with her son, Jaden. He was her life.

Surviving her besides her son Jaden and father Richard is her sister, Tricia Desmarais, of Los Angeles, California; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
