David R. Soucy, 52, of Chelmsford, passed away Friday July 24, 2015, due to complications of multiple myeloma, surrounded by his loving friends and family at his home. He was the husband of Cara A. (Mater) Soucy of Chelmsford with whom he shared a beautiful marriage.
David graduated in 1980 from Dracut High School and then joined the United States Navy. Upon discharge, he focused on his career in computers. David became an IT Specialist who owned and operated Park Avenue Systems. He was hardworking and was very proud of his company.
In 1998 he met his best friend and wife, Cara, and together they raised her son, Patrick, who admired David greatly, and their beautiful daughter, Megan.
A musician at heart, David enjoyed playing guitar, both acoustic and electric, and keyboard. Classic rock was his genre of choice although he was musically diverse. He liked to play golf with his buds and in his spare time could most often be found doing odd maintenance jobs around the house. David was a handyman and was great to have around. He always had time and a smile for his family and friends and greatly enjoyed his many nieces and nephew which he adored.
In addition to his wife and children, David is survived by his amazing parents, Gerald and Eileen (Sullivan) Soucy of Dracut; his loving brothers and sisters-in-law, Stephen Soucy and his wife, Jean of Wilton, CT, Mark Soucy and his wife, Jennifer of Wilmington; his loving sister and brother-in-law, Pam Hamel and her husband, George of Pelham, NH; his adorable granddaughter, Aubrey McDonald of Virginia; 12 very special nieces and nephews; his very close uncles and aunt, William and Ruth Sullivan of Dracut, Dennis Sullivan of Lowell, Roland Soucy of Florida; his caring parents in-law, David and Carla Fenwick of Tyngsboro and Rick and Donna Mater of Salem, NH and sisters and brother-in-law, Krista Marshall of Chelmsford and Rikki DeCosta and Mike of Hooksett, NH; many cousins and dear friends.
