David R. Lyko, age 63, a resident of Lowell died Friday, December 9, 2022 at RegalCare at Lowell.
He was born in Lowell on April 20, 1959, and was the son of Lillian S. (Koziol) Lyko of Dracut and the late Chester Lyko. He received his education in Lowell schools and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School.
Prior to his retirement, David was employed for many years as a postal worker for the United States Postal Service.
He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed cooking and doing crossword puzzles.
In addition to his mother, David is survived by his sons, David R. Lyko, Jr. of Boston and Thomas J. Lyko of Dracut; his sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl and Ronald Hamel of Dracut; his niece, Laurie Johnston and her husband Thomas of Nashua, NH; his nephew Jeffrey Hamel who predeceased him; his dear friend, Elaine Hay of Goffstown, NH; and the mother of his sons, Sheryl Lyko of Dracut.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend David’s Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Saturday, December 17th at 10:00am at St. Francis Church, 115 Wheeler Road in Dracut. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David’s memory to St. Francis Parish, St. Teresa of Calcutta Homeless Ministry, PO Box 609, 115 Wheeler Road, Dracut, MA 01826.
