David H. Lamothe

March 5, 1955 — June 1, 2009

Dracut - David H. 'Emmitte' Lamothe, 54, a resident of Dracut, died on Monday, June 1, 2009 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH after living with cancer for nearly three years.
He was the beloved husband of Joanne P. (Dumais) Lamothe and together, they lived, laughed, and loved through 30 years of marriage and more than 30 years of long walks on Ogunquit Beach in Maine. David was extremely devoted to his two children, Brad and Anna. The family was known to do everything together and when David's time came to meet the Lord, Joanne, Brad, and Anna were there to see him through the last part of his spiritual journey.
Born March 5, 1955, in Lowell, he was the son of the late Lillian (Breault) (Lamothe) Trudel and Robert Lamothe who currently resides in Lowell.
He was a member of the Merrimack Valley Carpenters Local #111 for 30 years. Before his illness, he enjoyed a long working relationship with M & A Architectural Preservation; growing with the company from Journeyman to Foreman to Superintendent & Safety Officer.
David was a devoted parishioner of St. Michael Church in Lowell, and took great comfort in the 7:00 a.m. daily Mass. He was a member of the Centerville Sportsman Club. David was a member of Boy Scouts of America Troop 83 in Dracut, for many years and participated in the Big Brother Big Sister Program of Greater Lowell. His Big Brother relationship with his once 8 year old 'Little Brother', Ricky McClelland has turned into a father/son bond that has endured 30 years.
David enjoyed fishing, hunting, kayaking, working, spending time at home with family, yard work, cooking, and walking the Marginal Way at Ogunquit Beach in Maine.
He is survived by 6 loving siblings, Denise & husband, James Gough of Hampton Falls, NH, Patricia & husband, Alan Robinson of Hampton, NH, Paul Lamothe & wife, Debra of Lowell, MA, Donald & wife, Maureen of Hudson, NH, Kathleen & husband, Arthur Nolan of Oakham, MA, and Sandra & husband, Stephen Abramo of Dracut, MA . He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and three Godchildren.
David's circle of friends is wide but David's cancer journey made certain friendships even stronger. Our love goes out to Mark Boutin, Don Landry, Richard 'Joe' Jean, owners & diners from the 'Cameo Diner family', and Norm Daigle.
