David and Gloria (DeForge) Mulrey

LOWELL - Gloria J. (DeForge) Mulrey, 78, a resident of Lowell, died Friday, April 7, 2017, joining her beloved husband David G. Mulrey, who died on May 31, 1999 at the age of 63. They were married for 40 years and were longtime residents of Walpole.

Gloria was born Boston on April 24, 1938, and was the daughter of the late Henry and Florence (Paquette) DeForge and received her education in Dorchester schools. Prior to her retirement, she was employed for many years as a home healthcare specialist for various healthcare agencies.

David was born in Boston on March 24, 1936, and was a son of the late John and Ida (Fox) Mulrey and was a graduate of Dedham High School and Northeastern University. David then went on to serve his country in the United States Navy. Following his honorably discharge from the Navy he began his long career as a draftsman and designer in the electronics industry for EG&G in Bedford and Datel in Mansfield.

In their free time David and Gloria loved to golf together.

They are survived by their three sons, David G. Mulrey, Jr. of Lowell and with whom Gloria resided, Mark S. Mulrey and his wife Carolyn of Maynard; and Scott J. Mulrey and his wife Anne of Ladylake, FL; three grandchildren, Matthew Mulrey and Shaun Mulrey of Lawrence; and Katherine Mulrey of Leesburg, FL; a great grandchild, Raegan May; and Gloria's "Daughter" Mairi Lavoie of Lowell. David was also the brother of the late John Mulrey of Walpole.
