Constance M. Gelineau

October 2, 1933 — March 26, 2024

Lowell

Devoted Mother, Grandmother & Great-Grandmother

Constance M. “Connie” (Loiselle) Gelineau, 90, a life-long resident of Lowell, Massachusetts, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at Northwood Rehabilitation Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Ernest A. Gelineau with whom she shared 68 years of marriage until his passing on June 21, 2022.

She was born and raised in the Centerville section of Lowell, Massachusetts on October 2, 1933. Connie was the daughter of the late Rose Alma (Fournier) and the late Adonai Loiselle and sister of the late Norman Loiselle. After marrying her sweetheart, Ernest on February 28, 1954, the two went on to have three children, whom she devoted her life to care for, as well as becoming the neighborhood mom.

Connie was a member of Saint Anne Sodality, where she carried out the Christian values into her life daily. Connie and Ernie bought his father’s house, where they lived for over 60 years. She enjoyed bowling many years on a local woman’s bowling league. Connie was creative and funny, she could patch anything from your jeans to leather jackets. She would have Ernie call their grandchildren and tell them to look out the window at the moon and try to name which one it was. She loved to rake and continued until she had to give it up at the age of 87. She found excitement in finding her way on mystery rides. Connie would have an idea of where she was going, although not always the shortest routes, she always found her way stopping and asking for directions as needed. Connie loved spending time with her grandchildren and was constantly popping by to greet them as they got home from school. She would spend hours with them in the pool in her orange canvas hat that flopped over her eyes when wet.

Connie will be missed by her three children, Bruce Gelineau and his life partner Jane Ahearn, Ronald Gelineau and his life partner Joanne Breault and her devoted daughter, Janet Gelineau; her three grandchildren, Nicole Clement, Ryan Clement and Corey Clement and his wife Larissa; his great-grandsons, Corey Clement, Jr., Niko Clement and Cayden Clement to arrive in September; as well as her life-long friends, Robert and Blanche Lemelin, dear friends, Donald and the late Lorette Brun and childhood friends the Maille girls, Cecile and Georgette.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 9 AM at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated immediately following at 10 AM in ST. PATRICK CHURCH, 282 Suffolk Street, Lowell. Burial will be private.
