Lowell - Conrad Gauthier, 72, a resident of the Centralville section of Lowell died Thursday September 11, 2008 at the Saints Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Patricia A. (Eagle) Gauthier, with whom he would have celebrated 50 years of marriage on December 20th of this year.
Born in Lowell on February 19, 1936 he was a son of the late Conrad and Estelle (McDonald) Gauthier.
Conrad proudly served in the Marine Corps. having attained the rank of Cpl. He was a 30 year member of the Marine Corps League in Burlington.
Conrad was the owner and operator of Conrad Gauthier Construction Company in Burlington. He was always willing to help out in the community. Some of his memberships included the Centralville Neighborhood Action Group, Lowell Beautification Committee, Christmas in April. He was also responsible for the silhouette paintings on the local bridges.
Conrad enjoyed travelling extensively around the world, gardening, reading and spending time working in his woodshop making furniture. He liked to take the neighborhood children for rides in his 1930 model A Ford. He took his greatest pleasure from spending time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren.
Surviving him besides his wife are three children and their spouses, Conrad and Judith Gauthier of Hudson, NH, Stephen and Joann Gauthier of Westford, Lenore and Geoffrey Smith of Melrose; seven grandchildren, Jesse, Nancy, Alicia, and Ashley Gauthier, Taylor, Austin, and Natalie Smith. He was also the brother of the late Virginia Gauthier.
