Concetta (Accardi) Marchese, 89, beloved wife of the late Gioacchino Marchese, passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2015, with her family by her side.
Concetta was born in Licodia Eubea, Italy on October 11, 1926, a daughter of the late, Emanuele and Felice (Renna) Accardi.
At age 29 Concetta immigrated to the United States settling in the Bronx, NY where she worked in a shoe factory. She then met and married Gioacchino and they moved to Somerville. Concetta and Gioacchino started their family in Somerville, then in the 1970's settled in Methuen where they remained until retirement.
Concetta stayed home and raised their family while Gioacchino worked as a tailor.
Family was everything to Concetta. She especially loved cooking for them. Concetta also liked to crochet, and shop.
Concetta and Gioacchino moved to Hollywood, Fl after retirement. They would also visit relatives and friends in Italy every year. They returned to Massachusetts in 2001, settling in Lowell.
Survivors include her three children and their spouses, Angela and David Cuomo of Derry, NH, Gaetano "Tom" and Brenda Marchese of Lowell, Emanuele and Susan Marchese of Hampstead, NH; eight grandchildren, Christopher, Natasha, Afton, Anthony, Brianna, Samantha, Taylor, Holly, Manny; three great grandchildren, Jayde, Aliviah, Harper; a sister, Giovanna Pino of Brooklyn, NY; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the grandmother of the late Jason Archambeault, and sister of the late Magherita Saitta.
