On January 21, 2024, Colleen F. (Cox) Lovering, daughter of the late John E. and the late Arlene M. (McCarron) Cox completed her earthly journey.
Born in Lowell on August 21, 1946, Colleen was raised in Lowell. She was a graduate of St. Michael’s School, Keith Hall and Fitchburg State College graduating with a BS in Nursing. Colleen lived a life focused on caring for Seniors, beginning at age 14 as a Nurse’s Aide. Her dedication to the Geriatric Community was evident as an RN and then Executive Director of various facilities including Northwood, and Life Care of Merrimack Valley in Billerica. Residents and families were comforted by her professionalism and dedication.
Nothing was more important to Colleen than the time spent with family. Special holidays around the table were important. St. Patrick’s Day held a special place in her heart, traveling around the city with her Dad, sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews. You could always pick out Colleen with her kelly green sweater and matching shoes and pocketbook! Shoes and pocketbooks were always central to any outfit she wore! Colleen enjoyed traveling, the Cape and trips to the casinos with her buddy Joan.
Colleen will be missed by her sisters Karen Merchant and Gail Jaskal, her brothers John (Colleen McMahon) Cox and Bob (Leslie Gagnon) Cox, sister-in-law Brenda Lovering, nieces and nephews Jason (Kerrie) Jaskal, Joe (Catie) Cox, Kristine (Jaret) Foley, Beth Laverick and Dave Minnon, Kaitlyn (Sean) Moriarty, Tim Merchant, Bobby Cox and Kay Aubrey, Patrick Cox, Courtney (Santo) Dettore, Arnold Lovering, Kimberly Lovering, Kara (Larry) Letourneau, John Lovering; her great nieces and nephews Connor, Ryan, Victoria, Molly, Keegan, Evelyn, Ethan, Felicity, Everett, Sutton, Brandt and Juliette.
