Coleridge Josey

Coleridge Marcellus Josey, age 75, died Thursday, April 2, 2026. He was born on September 19, 1950 in West Medford, MA and was the beloved son of the late Mary (Josey) and James Brown.

An avid fisher, who found peace and reflection by the water’s edge, Coleridge could remain in the outdoors for hours. He loved working with his hands and the simplicity and break it brought from everyday life.

He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp and the distinct, shared identity amongst others he crossed paths with was deeply rooted.

Coleridge is survived by his son, Derek Richardson; his grandchildren, Aneya, Jordyn and Jinelle; his great-grandchildren, Kiora and Jahkai; his sister, Evangelene Billy of NC; as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Coleridge’s Life Celebration at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell on Thursday, April 9, 2026. All may gather for a brief visitation to pay their respects at 12 PM followed by his funeral service at 1 PM in the funeral home. Burial will be held privately.
