Cole Anthony Kinney, adored son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and loyal friend, died tragically on July 20, 2016. He was a resident of the Christian Hill section of Lowell. Cole was 17 years old.
Born in Lowell on September 20, 1998, he was the son of Dennis L. and Katie (Glaude) Kinney of Lowell who survive him.
Cole attended St. Michael School and the Robinson School. He was currently entering his senior year at the Greater Lowell Technical High School, where he was enrolled in the electrical program.
Cole boxed for many years at Ramalho's West End Gym, earning two Silver Mitten championships. He recently talked with his mom about wanting to go pro. In addition to Thursday night flag football with his boys, Cole played little league baseball and as a member of the Shamrocks, won the state championship and competed in Cooperstown. Throughout high school years, he played football and track and field, running the 400 and throwing the javelin for the Gryphons. He worked out and trained often, taking part in NESP strength and conditioning training.
Cole was an adrenaline lover. Whether it was backflips at the beach, at the quarry, or on the trampoline, he was always seeking adventure. He loved the water, anything in nature, and climbing. He enjoyed walks--not runs, fishing, the Reservoir, sitting by the fire pit or just chillin. Cole was a beautiful writer, and left these gifts as a lasting legacy for his family and friends.
A lover of chocolate milk and pringles, Cole was a friend to all, with a smile that could light up a room. He always said, "Being with the boys makes everything better."
Family was primary for Cole. He cherished the bond with his sister Tayla, the good times with his cousins, and the company of the smaller children in the family. The little cousins always wanted to know "Is Cole going to be there?"
Surviving him besides his parents are his sister and her boyfriend, Tayla Kinney and Eric Fantini of Lowell; grandparents, Leo and Virginia Kinney, Ronald Glaude, all of Lowell, Evelyn and Robert White of Pelham, NH; his best friend Diana Coutu of Dracut; many aunts, uncles, cousins, his squad, and his dog Shay.
