NAPLES, FL - Claudette C. (Lareau) (Thibeault) Mountain, 84, a winter resident of Naples, Florida for the last several years, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 10, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Alphonse L. "Al" Thibeault and Benjamin Mountain.
Born in Dracut on February 20, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Maurice I. and Gertrude R. (Patenaude) Lareau.
Claudette was a graduate of St. Louis Grammar School and St. Louis Academy.
Along with her husband Al, Claudette ran Al's Variety Store located on West Sixth Street in Lowell for many years.
A longtime resident of the Centralville section of Lowell, Claudette was a communicant of the former St. Louis de France Church in Lowell and Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Church in Dracut. She was an avid bingo player and her favorite bingo partner, Pauline Cloutier (her deceased sister-in-law).
Claudette had a love of dancing! She belonged to the Square Dancing Partners Club and other dancing clubs. She ballroom danced with both her husbands. (and danced around the house whenever music was playing!)
She is survived by her daughter, Darlene AuCoin; two grandsons, Marc Aucoin and his significant other, Angela, and Shane AuCoin; four great grandchildren, Hailie, Jaxon, Alessa, and Victoria; two brothers, a sister and their spouses, Donald and Barbara Lareau Robert Lareau and Aline (Boucher) and Roger Jean; two sisters-in-law, Helen "Dolly" Lareau and Linda Lareau; several nieces and nephews. Claudette was a sister of the late Normand and Paul Lareau and sister-in-law of the late Raymond Boucher, Jr and Cindy Lareau.
Relatives and friends are invited to Claudette's Memorial Visitation on Tuesday, July 19, from 9 until 10:30 AM at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street. Her Memorial Funeral Mass will follow at 11 AM in Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Church, Dracut. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to "Alzheimer's Foundation of America" c/o Michelle Canning, P.O.
