Claire G. Wristen

Claire G. (Lemieux) Wristen, 95, a resident of Hudson, NH, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 15, 2024 at Fairview Senior Living. She was the beloved wife of the late Henry A. “Hank” Wristen, with whom she was married 47 years, until his passing in 2022.

Born in Lowell, MA on June 5, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Armand Lemieux and Yvonne (Croteau) (Lemieux) Beauchesne. She was raised in Lowell and was educated in the Lowell School System then began working as a seamstress in the mills at an early age. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed making her daughter’s clothes.

She and Hank enjoyed traveling as well as ballroom dancing with their friends on the weekends. Claire loved walking daily with her neighborhood friends, reading biographies, knitting and enjoyed music and singing. She took up painting and left behind many beautiful finished pieces. She was an avid gardener and relished walking through her flower gardens. She enjoyed the beach and sun and many adventures with her best friend Auntie Irene. She loved cooking, baking for family and friends at the holidays, summer barbecues and simply loved chatting with neighbors over morning coffee. Claire loved everyone.

Claire is survived and will be deeply missed by her two daughters, Denise Whitman and her husband George and Debra Greaves and her husband Roy; her grandchildren, Jennifer, Todd and his wife Kim, Colleen and her wife Kristina, Sarah and her husband Eli, Courtney and her husband Chris, Ian and Meghan; her great-grandchildren, Dylan, Serene, Sophia, Dominic, Fiora, Greyson, Autumn and Christopher. She also leaves behind her brother, Paul Lemieux and his wife Paula and her cousin, Elaine Lareau; as well as many other relatives and friends.

She was the mother of the late Mark Delorme and sister of the late Leo and Raymond Lemieux.

Relatives and friends are invited to Claire’s Life Celebration on Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 2 until 4 PM at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell. Her Funeral Service will be celebrated immediately following at 4 PM in the funeral home. Burial at St. Joseph Cemetery will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Claire's memory to the Alzheimer's Association of MA/NH, 309 Waverly Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
