DRACUT - Claire B. (Aube) Rancourt, 78, a Dracut resident, died peacefully in her sleep on Monday, May 22, 2017 at her residence. She was the beloved wife and best friend of George H. Rancourt, Sr. with whom she was happily married for 59 years.
Born in Lowell on February 21, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Marcel R. and Flora M. (Landry) Aube.
Claire was a graduate of St. Joseph Grammar School and St. Joseph High School.
A longtime resident of Dracut, she was a communicant of St. Mary Magdalen Church.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the former Hewlett-Packard Company of Chelmsford.
She was an avid fan of the Red Sox, Crossword Puzzles and Wheel of Fortune.
She dedicated her life to her family and took pride in the caregiving of her grandchildren. Claire's best job was being the selfless, loving caretaker of her husband.
In addition to her husband George she leaves two sons, George H. Rancourt, Jr. and his wife Dawn (Blanchette) of Dracut and Michael J. Rancourt and Susan Almeida of Henniker, NH; two daughters, Susan A. Adie and her husband James M. of Hudson, NH and Linda R. Dumont and her husband Gary G. of Dracut; a brother, Marcel R. Aube, Jr. and his wife Theresa (Desrochers) of Gray, ME; a sister, Doris M. Sullivan and her husband Joseph of Windham, ME; 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She also leaves a loving family of in-laws.
