Claire G. (Lavallee) Parent, 92, a resident of Dracut for the past 56 years, died peacefully on Thursday, October 8, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.
Claire was born on August 5, 1923, the daughter of the late Ralph and Anna (St. George) Lavallee. She was the beloved wife of the late Gerald D. "Pie" Parent who died in 2005.
Claire was a communicant of Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Parish in Dracut. She was also a member of the Dracut Senior Citizen Club.
Claire had a deep commitment to her faith and her family. She was a devoted wife and she cherished her roles as a loving mother and caring grandmother.
Claire also enjoyed traveling. Some of her favorite spots were Florida, Hawaii, and locally Hampton Beach. She also enjoyed her trips to Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun. Claire liked to spend her free time playing cards and she was an avid bingo enthusiast.
Survivors include her four children and their spouses, Gerald Parent of Dracut, Kenneth and Patricia Parent of Tyngsboro, Michael and Margaret Parent, Suzanne and Christopher Lyons all of Dracut; six grandchildren, Jennifer Parent, Michelle Parent, Kelly Intartaglia and her husband Andrew, Kara McSwiggin and her husband John, David Parent, Mikaela Parent; a sister in law Constance Tropeano of Dracut and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister and sister in law of the late Lillian and William Sidebottom, Jeanne and Joseph Leonard, Cecille and Paul Donohoe, and beloved in law of the late Rena Roberge, Nick Tropeano, and George Parent.
Claire's family would especially like to thank the staff at D'Youville Manor Nursing Home for their devotion, compassion, comfort and care for Claire.
