Claire (Lafontaine) Lajoie, 73, a resident of the Centralville section of Lowell, died Wednesday morning, May 31, 2006 at Saints Memorial Medical Center.
She was the wife of Joseph H. Lajoie with whom she would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 1.
Born in Lowell on November 18, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Rachel (Labranche) Lafontaine.
Mrs. Lajoie was a communicant of the former St. Louis de France Church.
She was a member of the Lowell Senior Citizens Club and she enjoyed playing bingo.
She enjoyed meeting with the "breakfast club" which gathered in the morning at McDonald's Restaurant on Bridge Street in Dracut.
In addition to her husband she is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Cheryl Lajoie and Robert and Diane Lajoie, all of Lowell; a daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Scott Sabotka of Lowell; five grandchildren, Kaitlin, Courtney, Adam and Robert Lajoie and Scott Sabotka Jr., all of Lowell; a nephew, Henry Lafontaine of Lowell. She was the sister of the late Raymond, Albert and Gerard Lafontaine.
