Claire (L'Heureux) Dominique, beloved wife of Roland Dominique, Sr., passed away at her Dracut residence on Saturday February 13, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was 85.
Born in Lowell on May 28, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Rena (Bellemare) L'Heureux.
Prior to her marriage, Claire was an opera singer. She won a scholarship to Boston University for music.
Claire and Roland were married on April 16, 1950, and shared more than 65 years of laughter and love. They have enjoyed extensive traveling, especially spending their winters in Florida for the past several years.
Claire worked for many years at the Green Ridge Turkey Farm. She enjoyed bowling and bingo. Claire was a member of the Red Hat Society and Jeanne Manse. She and Roland were avid square dancers. They were members of the Travelers Square Dance Club for 25 years.
Most of all for Claire she cherished her family. Claire was quite a lady, always smiling and lived her life to the fullest. "Love You Better"
Besides her husband of 65 years, she is survived by her children, Denise Dominique, Roland Dominique, Jr. and his partner Sharon Maxim Eno, Diane Bisson and her husband Dennis of North Carolina; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; three sisters and a brother in law, Jeanne and Tom Brown, Rita Terrell, Lorraine Lessard; a brother and sister in law; Henry and Pearl L'Heureux; sisters in law, Bernadette Dominique, Jeannette Dominique; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Carmen Dearborne, Denis L'Heureux, Roland L'Heureux, and sister in law of the late Andy and Theresa Dominique.
