Lowell- Claire M. Chandonnet, 78, died Thursday June 29, 2006 at her Lowell residence.
She was born in Lowell on March 24, 1928, a daughter of the late Edward J. and Albina (Beaudoin) Chandonnet.
Ms. Chandonnet was a graduate of Lowell High School and attended both Middlesex Community College and Essex College. She was a communicant Ste. Therese Church and previously the former St. Louis de France, where she dedicated many years to teaching religious education and was a parish scout leader. She was a member of Young Christian Workers for many years. She spent many years as a singer with the former Chorale Orion which became the Spindle City Singers. Ms. Chandonnet had been employed by Northland Paper Group as a billing clerk.
Surviving Ms. Chandonnet are four brothers, Edward J. Chandonnet and his wife Simonne, of Lowell, Arthur Chandonnet and his wife Doris of Dracut, Raymond Chandonnet and his wife Pauline of Lowell and Robert Chandonnet and his wife Mae of Dracut; a sister, Rita Frechette of Lowell with whom she resided; an aunt, Therese Decelle of Lowell; two sisters in law, Imelda Chandonnet of Lowell, Yvette Chandonnet of Londonderry, NH; many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Emile, Gerard, Sr. Ida Chandonnet, NDA and Alice Cote.
