Claire D. (Hogue) Beaudette

January 23, 1918 — November 15, 2013

Claire (Hogue) Beaudette, 95, a longtime resident of Dracut, passed away on November 15th.
Claire was the beloved wife of the late Victor P. Beaudette, with whom she had been married for 61 years. Born in Lowell, she was the daughter of the late Narcisse and Rose (Ducharme) Hogue. She had been a resident of Dracut almost her entire life, but most recently resided at Methuen Village at Riverwalk Park, an Assisted Living residence in Methuen.
Claire attended Goodhue and Greenmont schools in Dracut and St. Louis school in Lowell, as well as Lowell High School. She started hair dressing lessons when she was only 15 and later started a shop at home on Sladen St. in Dracut, where she was later joined by her twin sister Annette. She also worked at Jessie's Hair Salon in Lowell after graduating from Hairdresser School.
Besides hairdressing, she enjoyed dancing, and met her future husband at the former Lakeview dance hall in Dracut. She married her husband of 61 years at St. Therese Church in 1945, just after the end of World War II. She was an active member of the Ladies Sodality and the St. Therese School PTA in Dracut, was a regular worker at the Dracut polls and was a census taker for many years. She enjoyed traveling, New Years Eve parties with her in-laws, and trips to Las Vegas and Atlantic City.
Throughout her life, she was a parishioner at Ste. Marguerite d'Youville parish (formerly St. Therese) in Dracut. She was active in church activities, including teaching CCD, bake sales, arts and crafts. Until recently, she was an active member of the Order of St. Francis, and she enjoyed the many wonderful friends she made at their monthly meetings.
By far, her favorite activity was raising her three sons. She enjoyed sewing, and made lots of clothes for her children, but she especially prided herself of their academic and career achievements.
In addition to being predeceased by her husband, she was predeceased by her brother David Hogue, her twin sister Annette Dauphinais, her sister Dolores Arel and her brother Roland Hogue. On her husband's side, she is predeceased by her brother-in-law Andre Beaudette and sisters-in-law Gabrielle Baribeault, Germaine Beaudette, Dolores Brouillette and Jeanne Tousignant.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Harvey P. and Rosemaria (Costa) of Dracut, her son Norman V. of Londonderry, her son and daughter-in-law, Louis D. and Kristine A (Holmes) of Hudson; her grandchildren, David Beaudette and his wife Leslie, Steven and Kim Beaudette, Amy and Jonathan Simberg, Jason and Tara Ralls, Jessica Ralls, Kevin Beaudette and fiancée Amanda Charles, Leigh and Dan Cameron, Michael and Maria Beaudette, Marc and Heidi Beaudette and John Beaudette, as well as 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Estelle Tarpinian and Simone Chandonnet and husband Edward.
