Christopher E. Walsh

CHELMSFORD - Christopher E. Walsh, 58, a resident of Chelmsford, crossed the eternal finish line for the Special Olympics on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at his home in Chelmsford.

He was born in New London, CT on May 11, 1958, and was a son of the late Dennis e. and Elizabeth C. (Coffin) Walsh. He received his education in Lowell schools.

Chris had his challenges, but it never slowed him down to live life to the fullest. He was an avid bingo player and he loved to bowl, candle pin and duck pin. He enjoyed watching baseball, especially attending Spinners games and going to WWE wrestling matches with his brother Michael. He also enjoyed his time at Camp Fatima, where he went horseback riding, did archery, and went swimming. Chris loved to dance with his friends, and he also enjoyed doing arts and crafts, listening to music, and watching television.

He participated in the Special Olympics and excelled in Track and Field and Aquatics. In his younger years, Chris was a Boy Scout and an alter boy at St. Michael Church in Lowell.

He is survived by his brother, Michael D. Walsh of Lowell and his cousins, Paula Hunter of Francestown, NH, Anne Nelson of North Stonington CT, Susan Hunter of Berkeley CA, Gary Coffin, of Concord NH, and Judi Daniels of Dover NH.
