Christina A. "Tina" (Kelly) O'Connell-Lambert

May 27, 1930 — February 27, 2015

Christina A. "Tina" (Kelly) O'Connell-Lambert, 84, matriarch of a well known Lowell family, died surrounded by her family on Friday February 127, 2015 at the Lowell General Hospital following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Gerard F. Lambert and the late David M. O'Connell.

Born in Lowell on May 27, 1930, Christina was a daughter of the late Christopher and Lena (Chase) Kelly.
Tina was educated in Lowell and served with the St. Rita Cadets. While at Lowell High School she was a Girl Officer. Following graduation, she enrolled in the Catherine Laboure´ School of Nursing at the former St. John's Hospital. Upon her completion of studies there, Tina matriculated at Boston College where she received her BSN.
Graduation from BC began a career of teaching and caring. Tina was nursing instructor at the Catherine Laboure´ School of Nursing at the former St. John's Hospital, while working as nurse there. She later taught the LPN program at the Greater Lowell Technical Vocational High School and later the Tewksbury State Hospital Nursing Program, retiring in 1999.

Tina's life was devoted to taking care of others. Her family describes her as an elegant woman who was selfless. She worked tirelessly and was the consummate care giver.
She loved to dance, especially ballroom dancing. Tina enjoyed visiting the beach and traveling to Naples, FL to visit family.
She was devout in her faith, and it was an integral part of her life that would guide her. Tina was active in several groups including the Legion of Mary, St. Dominic Society and Sodality of our Blessed Lady. For Tina, family was paramount. She was a loving mother and "Super Nana" to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She attended countless recitals and games, enjoying them all.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, David and Gail O'Connell of Grand Forks, ND, Paul and Linda O'Connell of Leominster and Naples, FL, Christopher and Mary Ellen O'Connell of Naples, FL, Mary Richard of Meredith, NH, Robert and Cheryl O'Connell of Naples, FL, Patricia and Edwin Koczera of Dracut, John O'Connell of Dracut; 16 grandchildren, Nancy Davis, Elizabeth O'Connell, Eric O'Connell, Jennifer Ledoux, Patrick O'Connell, Daniel O'Connell, David O'Connell, Raymond Richard, Jr., Christina Maciel, Matthew O'Connell, Meaghan O'Connell, Jamie McNeil, Jaclyn Laliberte, Jonathan Koczera, Brendon O'Connell, Baylee O'Connell; 14 great grandchildren; a brother and sister in law, Carl and Jane Kelly of Merrimack, NH; a brother in law and sister in law, William and Kay O'Connell of Chelmsford; her life long friend Marguerite O'Neil-Kmiec; and many nieces and nephews. She was the grandmother of the late Joanna O'Connell-Swope, mother in law of the late Raymond Richard, and sister of the late Rita Lowney, Mary O'Connor, Margaret Driscoll, Christopher Kelly, and Patricia Smith.
