Cheryl A. Fontes, 53, a longtime Chelmsford resident, beloved wife of Robert "Bob" Fontes, died Sunday May 17, 2009 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Lowell on November 2, 1955, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Doris (Blanchette) Newcomb.
Cheryl had been employed as a CNA by local nursing facilities.
She loved many things, among which were knitting, bowling and listening to country music.
She was a kind hearted person and she will be greatly missed by her family.
In addition to her husband, survivors include two sons, Tony Fontes of Lowell, Timothy Fontes and his wife, Jennifer of Merrimack, NH; a daughter, Tracy Bobola and her husband Derek of Nashua, NH; three brothers, David Newcomb and his wife, Pearl of Manchester, NH, Ralph Newcomb and Joan Buchikos of Lowell, Rick Newcomb and his wife, Maureen of Weymouth; a sister, Lois Lambert and her husband Larry of Strafford, NH; a sister-in-law, Terry Newcomb of Londonderry, NH; six grandchildren, Deanne Fontes, Devon Fontes, Anthony Fontes, Isabel Fontes, Kelsey Ferreira, Dylan Bobola; two great grandchildren; twelve nieces and nephews; dear friends, Donna Holder of Lowell, Corinne Murphy of Tyngsboro and Karen Atkinson of Dracut.
She was a sister of the late Judy Boisvert.
