Charles K. McLaughlin

January 13, 1939 — January 27, 2022

Charles K. McLaughlin, January 13, 1939 – January 27, 2022 (83 years old)

Charles K. McLaughlin, 83 years old of Naples, Florida and Lowell, MA, died on January 27, 2022 while in hospice care in Naples. Charles was born and raised in Lowell, MA, was a Master electrician by trade, just like his dad, Charles, and his son, Michael. Charles' career combined this life-long trade with construction and real estate development– building many homes throughout his life. Charles resided in Hampton and Wakefield, New Hampshire for many years, before retiring in Naples, Florida. Charlie was an avid mah-jongg player who enjoyed the social comradery of friends along with the sense of competition. A big life-long fan of the Red Sox, Charles also grew into cheering for the Tampa Bay Rays during his time in Naples, FL.

Charlie is survived by his devoted wife, Charletta (Charles) McLaughlin of Naples; his daughters Donna McLaughlin of Jamaica Plain, MA, Sharon (McLaughlin) Bellemore of Naples, Susan (McLaughlin) McGinnis and her husband Peter of Concord, NH; his sons, Michael McLaughlin of Naples, FL and Kevin McLaughlin and his wife Susan of Portsmouth, NH, and his step-daughter, Tonya Flores of Rochester, NH. Charlie is survived by his youngest sister Mary (McLaughlin) Day and her husband Bob of Townsend, MA. Charles was loved by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his beloved mother and father, Charles and Irene (Audoin) McLaughlin and his sisters, Rita (McLaughlin) Smith and Ann (McLaughlin) Reeney.

Charles will be remembered as a relentless hard worker. He was a kind, generous and loving man who was always beyond happy to share a meal with family or friends or watch a ball-game with his son Mike. In his earlier years, Charlie was thrilled to drive his boat and take family for rides out on the lake in NH and looked forward to celebrating a holiday at one of his sister's homes and later at the homes of his daughters Susan and Sharon. A favorite time for Charlie was the many talks and memory sharing with his daughter, Donna, while sipping a glass of wine outside in the beautiful weather at his home in Naples. Charlie was beloved and will be forever loved and missed by his family and friends.

A graveside service for Charlie will be held on Monday, June 6, 2022 at 11:30am at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Lowell, MA with a Celebration of Life reception immediately following at Lenzi's Restaurant in Dracut, MA.
