Loving Husband, Father & Grandfather

Charles T. Gay, Jr., 65, died on March 8, 2023 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Cynthia A. (Layman) Gay with whom he was married to for 38 years.

He was born in Woburn, MA on February 25, 1958 and was a son of Loretta (DeLisle) Gay of Billerica and the late Charles T. Gay, Sr.. After graduating high school, Charles proudly went on to serve his country in the United States Army.

Charles enjoyed spending time with his family and time spent out gardening. He was always known for a lending a hand when needed and wanted others to know he was always there for them.

In addition to his wife Cindy, Charles is survived and will be deeply missed by his two children, Kyle T. Gay of Lowell and Ashley E. O’Donnell and her husband Ryan of Lowell; his two grandchildren, Jacqueline and Keira; his six siblings, Lorretta DeLisle, Linda Voner and her husband Charlie, Lorrie Mackness and her husband Ernie, Lisa Woodard and her husband Charlie, Kevin Gay and Christine Thompson and her husband Nate; as well as several nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to Charles’ Life Celebration on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 from 4 until 7 PM at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell. Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Charles’ memory to Fund for Nature, c/o Member Services Mass Audubon, 208 South Great Road, Lincoln, MA 01773.
