DRACUT - Celestina A. "Alice" (DaSilva) Tierney, 90, a resident of Dracut, passed away on Tuesday morning with her loving family by her side. She was the wife of the late Christopher J. Tierney.
Born in Tewksbury, on March 12, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Manuel and Augusta (DeJesus) DaSilva.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Bellofram Corp. of Pelham, NH, and had previously worked at the Lowell Shoe Company.
Mrs. Tierney was an avid Red Sox fan and recently enjoyed her first game at Fenway Park.
Her family would like to thank both the staffs of D'Youville Senior Care and Circle Home Hospice for the kind and compassionate care provided to her.
She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Chaplin and her partner Michael Starn and Marie Coolidge and her husband Robert; three sons, Christopher J. Tierney, Jr., William Tierney and his wife Linda and Michael Tierney and his wife Kelley; a brother, Augustos DaSilva; 11 grandchildren, Christopher Tierney and his wife Sandy, Sara Lewis and her husband Clayton, Lashanta Ackley and her husband Brian, William Tierney and his wife Kim, Kimberly Honan and her husband Jason, Kelly Longley and her husband Patrick, Samuel Chaplin, Anastasia Shuman and her husband Steve, Emily, Zachary and Eliza Tierney; 18 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late James Tierney, and sister of the late Manuel, George, Joseph and Marie DaSilva, Mary Allen and Vivian Fisher.
TIERNEY - Relatives and friends are invited to Mrs. Tierney's Life Celebration on Thursday from 4 until 8 PM at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday morning at 10 AM in St. Francis Church, Dracut. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to Circle Home Hospice, 847 Rogers Street, #201,Lowell, MA 01852.
