Cecile Lacourse

DUNSTABLE - Cecile Lacourse, 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 4, 2009 at her home in Dunstable, MA while surrounded by her family. Born in Lowell, MA on July 30, 1923, she was the third of sixteen children born to the late Alfred and Flore (Marion) Lacourse. Cecile will be best remembered for her dedication to her faith and to her family.
While Cecile never had children of her own, Cecile's life was spent in selfless servitude to her immediate and extended family as a care giver. She left school at a very young age to help her parents raise her many brothers and sisters and then later was deeply involved in the upbringing of her many nieces and nephews. Cecile was highly regarded as a second mother by many and was always there for anyone who was in need. She was always the first person to volunteer to help when illness befell a family member - caring for many until their death. Cecile was a truly wonderful person with a heart of gold, and will be dearly missed by all that had the good fortune of knowing her.
In addition to many nieces and nephews, Cecile is survived by a brother, Donald Lacourse, of Franklin, MA; three sisters: Flora Tanguay of Meridian, Idaho, Pauline Lacourse of Hampton, NH, and Claudette Vincent, of Dunstable, MA. Cecile is also the sister of the late Maurice, Victor, Omer, Roger, George, Paul and Julien Lacourse, as well as Joan Lusk, Alice Parent, Claire Dufresne, and Therese Lacourse.
