Cecile M. "Cis" Gardner

August 9, 1954 — October 2, 2022

Lowell

Cecile M. “Cis” (Roeschlaub) Gardner, age 68, a resident of Pelham, NH and former long-time resident of Lowell died Sunday, October 2, 2022 after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of Dennis J. Gardner, to whom she was with for almost 50 years before his passing in January 2021.

Cis was born in Lowell on August 9, 1954 and was the daughter of the late George and Doris Roeschlaub. She received her education in Lowell Public Schools and was a graduate of Lowell Trade School. Cis spent many years as a dispatcher and EMT for the city of Lowell. After leaving public service Cis still had a passion for making sure first responders were well fed both through her time at Santoro’s Sub Shop and prepping food for crews on duty on holidays.

In her spare time Cis would often “lock up the brakes” whenever she saw a tag sale. She loved camping and spending time up at Wyman’s Beach in Westford. But above all, her favorite activities involved spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren, even more so if they showed up with her beloved iced Dunkin coffee.

She is survived by her children, Holly (Gardner) Allard and her husband Jeffrey of Dracut, Erin Gardner of Pelham, NH and Dennis F. Gardner and his wife Jennifer of Chicopee; nine grandchildren, Kelsey, Jeffrey, Jake, Jayson, Kennan, Kylie, Megan, Kason and Emerson; her four sisters, Jean Williams, Rose Lobas, Annette Roeschlaub and Irene Roeschlaub; her two brothers, Arthur and George Roeschlaub. Cis also leaves behind Shirley Smith Carr who was her best friend since childhood.

Cis was the mother of the late Nelson Smith; sister of the late Rita Rivera, Leona Lemay, Doris Columbe and Lucille Daykins.

Honoring her last wishes, all services will be held privately.
