Cecile M. Brown

Cecile M. (Latour) Brown, age 81, a longtime resident of Dracut died Thursday, August 10, 2023 at Life Care Center of Merrimack Valley in Billerica.  She was the wife of the late Howard K. Brown who died on August 22, 1997.  

She was born in Lowell on February 14,1942, and was a daughter of the late Joseph and Florida (Grimard) Latour.  She received her education in Lowell schools.  

Cecile was employed for a short, time as a solderer at the textile mills in Lowell. but left that to follow her passion which was the care of her family.

She was a talented crocheter and made baby blankets, pillows and hats, which she would often give to family and friends or donate to local hospitals and people in need.  She also enjoyed crafting, playing cards, eating Billy’s cooking and spending time in Karen’s Garden.  Her greatest joy however, was spending time and sharing stories with her loving family and friends, especially her adoring grandchildren.   

Cecile is survived by her three children, Karen Finch and her husband Aaron of Hudson, NH, Kenneth Brown and his wife Kelly of Lowell and William Brown of Dracut; her five grandchildren, Ryan Daniels of Hooksett, NH, Erik Daniels of Milford, NH, Michael Dame of Dracut, Danielle Mello of Lowell and Lauren Mello of Chelmsford; her sister, Pauline Rando and her husband Bob of Hudson, NH; two sisters-in-law, Lorraine Latour of Tyngsboro and Doris “Dolly” Latour of Hudson, NH; and many nieces and nephews.  

She was also the sister of the late Joseph “Pete” Latour, Paul Latour, Dick Latour and Edward Latour.  

It being her wish, there will be no visitation.  Relatives and friends are invited to Cecile’s Graveside Service on Friday, August 18th at 10:00am at St. Patrick Cemetery, 1251 Gorham St., Lowell.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cecile’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association of MA, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd, Waltham, MA 02452 or at https://www.alz.org/?form=alz_donate.
