Lowell - Cecile M. Brodeur, a longtime resident of the Centralville section of Lowell, died Wednesday September 8, 2010 following a period of declining health. She was 99.
Cecile would have celebrated her 100th birthday on December 21.
She was born in Waterbury, CT on December 21, 1910, a daughter of the late Louis and Olivine (Belle Isle) Brodeur.
Following the death of her mother as an infant, Cecile was raised by her aunt and uncle Thomas and Helene (Bell Isle) Savard.
Cecile was a graduate of St. Louis academy, and was a communicant of the former St. Louis de France Parish.
She was a promoter of the Miraculous Medal Society.
Prior to her retirement she was employed by the former St. Joseph Hospital.
Survivors include two nieces, Doris Notini of Lowell, Ruth Coomas and her husband James of Dracut; three nephews, Raymond Belleville of Pelham, NH, Willis Belleville and his wife Marjorie of Londonderry, NH Gerald Belleville, and his wife Elizabeth of Mesa, AZ. She was the sister of the late Maria Belleville, cousin of the late Severinne Theberge, with whom she resided and aunt of the late Paul, Donald, and Richard Belleville, and Pauline Houghtaling.
