Cecile M. (Paquin)(Fortin) Bergeron

Cecile M. (Paquin) (Fortin) Bergeron, 91, passed away on Saturday August 9, 2014 at the Palm Center in Chelmsford, MA after a period of declining health.
She was born December 15, 1922 in Lowell, MA the eldest child of the late Donat and Marie Paquin. She was the former wife of the late Leo Fortin and the widow of the late Raymond (Blackie) Bergeron.
A lifelong Lowell resident she worked at several local textile mills including: Lawrence Manufacturing, Ames Textile, and Synthetic Yarns. She retired in 1986 as a cook at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital Canteen in Bedford, MA
Cecile will be especially remembered for being a devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, embroidery, ceramics and camping. She enjoyed knitting and donating afghans to the homeless of Lowell. She had a special love for lighthouses and recently traveled to Maine to see the Nubble Light.
Cecile is survived by four daughters Dolores (Roger) Bechard of Lowell, Rita Warren of Lowell, Jacqueline (Stephen) DiDomenico and Rachel Fisher and her partner Joseph Jacques. One son Donald Fortin of Charlton, MA. Nine grandchildren Suzanne Colonna of Methuen, MA Robert Bechard, Lowell, MA David, Cheryl and Dawn Marie Fortin all of West Boylston, MA Angela Wright of Lowell, MA Corey Warren of Lowell, MA, Stephen DiDomenico of Washington, DC and Michael DiDomenico of Lowell, MA and numerous great-grandchildren including Hanna Wright of Lowell. One sister Theresa Shanley of Lowell, MA. Additionally, she is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her daughter-in-law Eunice Fortin and son-in-law Billy Warren, brothers George, Wilfred and Maurice Paquin, Robert and Gerald Dozois, Sisters Florence Avila and Pauline Beene.
