Catherine M. (Thomas) O'Brien … retired Lowell School Teacher; 88

DRACUT - Catherine M. (Thomas) O'Brien, of Dracut, MA, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2018, at the age of 88. Beloved wife of the late Raymond E. O'Brien. She was the dear sister of George Thomas and his wife Gloria of NH, Kevin Thomas and his wife Elinor, of Woburn, Allan Thomas and his partner Michael of FL, Ellen Scarborough and her husband Jim, of VA, two sisters in law, Millie Thomas of Arizona and Sandy Thomas of Marlborough, her late brothers Brendan Thomas of Arizona and John "Jack" Thomas of Marlborough. She is also survived by many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She has three godsons, Charlie Gill of Lowell, Patrick Thomas of Natick and Bill Thomas of Chelmsford. She was born in Lowell, MA to the late George W. and Genevieve E. (Donohoe) Thomas. She grew up in Belmont and Newton and spent most of her summers at her cherished beach, Long Beach in Rockport, MA. She graduated High School from Our Lady Help of Christians. She graduated from Framingham State College and taught for 37 years in Lowell. She had a heart of gold and a sharp mind and was a devoted wife, sister, aunt and friend and loved by all who knew her.

ARRANGEMENTS - Relatives and friends are invited to attend Catherine's Life Celebration at the MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell on Monday morning from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM followed by her Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11:00 AM at St Francis Church in Dracut. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery in Lowell. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Catherine's memory to the Elizabeth Seton Nursing Residence, 125 Oakland St., Wellesley, MA, 02481.
