Catherine A. "Kay" Lake

June 24, 1923 — December 13, 2020

LOWELL - Catherine A. "Kay" (Milne) Lake, age 97, a longtime resident of Lowell died Sunday, December 13, 2020 at Belvidere Healthcare Center in Lowell. She was the wife of the late John J. Lake, Sr, to whom she was married for 48 years before his death in 1994.

She was born in Lowell on June 24, 1923, and was a daughter of the late Robert and Catherine A. (Maguire) Milne. She graduated Lowell High School in 1940.

Kay spent most her life tending to the needs of her home and family. Earlier in life she was employed by Heinz Electric and later at Western Electric.

She enjoyed shopping, going out to eat, traveling, and 40's music. Her greatest joy however, was the time spent in the company of her loving family, especially her adoring grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Kay was a longtime communicant of the former Sacred Heart Church in Lowell.

She is survived by her daughter Catherine A. "Katie" Hart of Dracut; her son, John J. "Jack" Lake and his wife Linda of Dracut; her son-in-law, Robert Hart of Haverhill; five grandchildren, Matthew Hart, Kathryn Guzman, Timothy Lake, Shelagh Santos, and Jennifer Kennedy; five great grandchildren, Avery Guzman, Isabella Guzman, Ashleigh Santos, Emaliegh Santos, and Myliegh Santos; a sister, Helen Pare and her husband Gerard of Littleton; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Anna Murphy, Margaret St. Peter, Mary Lauzier, Elizabeth Gray, and Patricia Lagasse.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Kay's Life Celebration at the MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell on Saturday from 9:00 until 10:00am followed by her Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11:00am at St. Francis Church in Dracut. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery in Tewksbury.
