BALTIMORE, MD - Catherine "Kay" Monahan Kennedy, 96, a resident of Baltimore, MD and former resident of St. Augustine, FL, and former longtime resident of Dracut, MA died Monday, March 6, 2017 at her daughter Anne's home. She was the wife of the late Thomas R. Kennedy.
She was born in Dracut on April 10, 1920, and was a daughter of the late James J. and Annie (Hague) Monahan. She received her education in Dracut schools and was a graduate of Dracut High School, class of 1937.
Prior to her retirement, Kay was employed for many years as a legal secretary for the late Max J. Cohen, Esq. in Lowell, MA.
She is survived by her daughter Anne Kennedy of Baltimore, MD; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Bardelli of Baltimore, MD, Jacqueline Bardelli and her partner Jason Fraser of Brisbane, Australia, and Scott Bardelli and his wife Stephanie of Stewartstown, PA; four great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late William, James, Robert, George and Gilbert Monahan, and Mary Hanahan.
It being Kay's wishes, there will be no visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass at St. Francis Church in Dracut on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at 11:00 AM. Please meet at church. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery in Lowell. There will be a gathering at 2 pm at The Village Inn in Dracut to celebrate her life.
