Blanche A. Young

Nashua, NH - Family was paramount in Blanche A. (Chagnon) Young's life. She was surrounded by them when she passed away on August 14, 2025. Blanche was 92.

Born in Lowell on August 28,1932, she was a daughter of the late Malcom and Clara (Fleury) Chagnon.

Blanche married the love of her life, the late Herbert J. Young, upon his return from WWII. Together they celebrated 63 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2015.

Blanche stayed at home and raised her seven children. She later worked in the finishing department at 3M.

Devoted to her Catholic faith, Blanche attended the former St. Louis de France Parish, and St. Rita Parish in Lowell and recently the Parish of the Resurrection in Nashua.

Family was everything to Blanche and she was happiest when she was surrounded by them.

Surviving her are her six children, Wayne Young and his wife Lin of Austin, TX, Craig Young of Leander, TX, Cathy Frechette and her husband Paul of Merrimack, NH, Karen Bellemore and her husband Kevin O'Doherty of Merrimack, NH, Darlene Slates and her husband Jon of Merrimack, NH Lisa Breton of North Andover; eighteen grandchildren, Kerrie, Deana, Beth, Michael, Dustin, Jason, Stephen, Keith, Heidi, Jordan, Chelsea, Kurt, Kayla, Ally, Zack, Ethan, Aidan, Alex; fifteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; a brother, Richard Chagnon of Dracut; two sisters, Loretta Paquette of Dracut, Florence Lecedra of Ogunquit, ME; and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Cheryl Young and sister of the late George Chagnon, Edward "Sonny" Chagnon, and Irene Adamczyk.

Relatives and friends are invited to Blanche's Life Celebration at the McKenna-Ouellette Funeral Home, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell from 4 until 7 PM on Monday. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 AM in the Parish of the Resurrection, 449 Broad Street, Nashua. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
