Dracut- Blanche C. (Chartrand) Simard, 80, died Sunday, July 31, 2005 at her home after an extended illness. She was the wife of the late Raymond H. Simard with whom she had celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Born in Lowell on February 25, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Emma (Corcoran) Chartrand. She was educated in Lowell schools. During the World War II she sewed parachutes. She later became a coil winder for Western Electric for 25 years. She was a communicant of Ste Therese Church and was a former member of the Fleur de Lis Club where both she and her husband enjoyed dancing.
Surviving her are a daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Stephen Barrett of Dracut; two sisters, Jeannette Brown of Lowell and Priscilla Weinstein of Port St Lucie, FL; two sisters-in-law, Blanche Denis of Lawrence and Anita Karafelis and her husband Alex of Lowell; also several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
