Betty (Tgibedes) Blazonis, beloved wife of the late Joseph F. Blazonis passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022 following a brief period of declining health.
Betty was born in Dracut, a daughter of the late George and Despina (Pernitges) Tgibedes. She was educated in the Dracut schools and was a lifelong resident.
Betty worked for many years in the produce department at Market Basket on Bridge Street in Lowell. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, and the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare.
Betty married the love of her life, Joseph F. Blazonis Sr., with whom she built a beautiful life, family and home.
Survivors include her daughter and son in law, Karen Ashford Ives and her husband James of Hudson, NH; a daughter in law Elaine (Pelletier) Blazonis of Merrimack, NH; two grandchildren, James Blazonis of Lowell, Joseph F. Blazonis, III and his wife Courtney of Brookline, NH; three great grandchildren, Izabella, Ava and Lyla Blazonis. Also several nieces and nephews. Betty was the mother of the late Mary Blazonis, and Joseph F. Blazonis Jr. She was the sister of the late Stella Beaudry, Helen Sedleski, Pauline Stone, Anna Vallante, Nicholas, Theodore "Teddy", Stephen, and Peter Tgibedes.
It being Betty's request, her private funeral services were held at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and burial was at Westlawn cemetery
