Dracut – Beryl G. (Sheppard) Sandelli, age 93, a lifelong resident of Dracut died Thursday January 11, 2024 at Bear Mountain in Reading, surrounded by family. She was the beloved wife of Frank J. Sandelli, with whom she would have celebrated 75 years of marriage on April 17th.
She was born in Dracut on June 10, 1930 and was one of twelve children of Charles C. and Georgianna Beryl (Lemoine) Sheppard. She received her education in Dracut schools and was a graduate of Dracut High School, class of 1947.
Beryl dedicated most of her life to tending to her beloved family and home. She worked outside the home for a time at Lowell Electric Light, Northeast Refrigeration and New England Cement Block and Pipe Company.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church and Christ Church United, both in Lowell, and volunteered her time as a Sunday School teacher.
Beryl was a talented cook known for her Swedish Nut coffee rings and also enjoyed crossword puzzles and gardening. She also cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren at York Beach, Maine.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, John Charles Sandelli of Lowell, her daughter Virginia Beryl Hodge and her husband Blair of Ogunquit, Maine; four grandchildren, Noah Hastings and his partner Jaclyn of Dracut, Matthew Sandelli and his wife Lisa Freytes of Lowell, Adam Sandelli and his wife Gina of Chelmsford and Gianna Sandelli of Lowell; five great-grandchildren, Ethan, Anthony, Mia, Emily and Angie; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Lawrence Sheppard, Wallace Sheppard, Robert Sheppard, Louis Sheppard, Henry Sheppard, Charlie Sheppard, Willa Singleton, Muriel Keegan, Annie Zielinski, Evelyn Makiej and Charlotte DeMarco.
Beryl had several lifelong friends, among them Donna Jacobs, Virginia and Linda Edwards and Virginia Sheppard.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Beryl’s Life Celebration at the McKenna-Ouellette Funeral Home, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell on Thursday January 18th from 1:00 until 4:00pm followed by her Funeral Service at 4:00pm at the funeral home. Private spring burial in Richardson Cemetery in Dracut. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Beryl’s memory to Shriner’s Hospital for Children, Attn: Office of Development, 2900 N.
