Bertha M. Mercier

Dracut - Bertha M. (Landry) Mercier, 94, wife of Eugene L. Mercier with whom she celebrated 66 years of marriage died Monday at a local nursing home.
Born in Dracut on June 7, 1912, a daughter of the late Auguste and Helen (Levy) Landry, she was a lifelong resident of Dracut.
Prior to her retirement she was a sticher for the former Lowell Dress Co., a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union, Local 281, the Dracut Senior Citizens Club, and Friends of Dracut Elderly, she was also a lifelong communicant of Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Parish. Mrs. Mercier was also an avid dancer and bowler.
Surviving her besides her husband are a sister, Marion Giguere of Dracut; a sister in law Helen Landry of Lowell; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Alfred, Russell, and Virgil Landry, Emma Perreault, Marie Janet Gauthier, and Lillian Charette.
