Bertha D. Hall

May 19, 1920 — June 10, 2009

Bertha D. Hall, 89, a lifelong Dracut resident, died Wednesday June 10, 2009, at a local nursing facility. She was the beloved wife for 66 years of Joseph W. "Arthur" Hall of Dracut.

Born in Dracut on May 19, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Brouillette) Daigle.

Mrs. Hall attended St. Joseph High School and Lowell Commercial College.

She was a communicant of the former Ste. Jeanne d'Arc Church of Lowell, and more recently attended Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Church of Dracut.

She had been employed by Hub Hosiery of Lowell, and soon thereafter met the love of her life. Following their wedding, she spent many years as a homemaker and raising her four children. She later returned to the workforce at Data Lab, Inc. of Lowell. During this period, from the mid-60's through late-70's, she worked with innovative, cutting edge computer technology providing financial and accounting services such as payroll processing, billing, accounts payable and receivables, and inventory management to several businesses throughout Massachusetts and northern New England.

After her years in the work force, Bertha chose an early retirement in order to care for her daughter Denise during her 14-year struggle with renal failure and other complications brought on by Lupus. She continued in the role of dedicated caregiver, attending to the needs of siblings and their spouses in their elder years. It was her nature to take excellent care of those she loved. She took a tremendous amount of pride in tending to others' needs and her empathy and compassion was never ending. Above all things, her family is what mattered to her the most.

Besides her husband, survivors include two sons, Kenneth A. Hall of Dracut and his companion Cindy Gale of Nashua, NH, Arthur J. Hall and his wife, Suzanne of Dracut; a daughter, Carmen Bellerose and her husband, Kenneth of Pelham, NH; a sister, Alice B. Daigle of Dracut; six grandchildren, Keith Bellerose and his wife, Maria of Lowell, Kristen (Bellerose) Connolly and her husband, John of Pelham, NH, Lauren (Hall) Grymek and her husband, Gregory of South Boston, Gregory Hall of New York City, NY, William Hall of Brookline, and Jeffrey Hall of Dracut; two great grandchildren, Kenneth and Natalia Bellerose of Lowell; two sisters-in-law, Juliette Mailloux of Dracut, Therese Hall of Lowell; a brother-in-law, Armand Hall and his wife Gabrielle of Newport Richey, FL; many nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late Denise Hall. She was also the sister of the late Joseph, Emile, Albert, Bernard, Raoul "Dolly," Donat "Dan," and Beatrice Daigle, and Jeanne (Daigle) Crowley.
