BOSTON - Bernard J. Lemire, 69, retired member of Northeastern University faculty, died Thursday, October 21, 2004 following a brief illness.
Born in Lowell on October 6, 1935, he was a son of the late Joseph and Medora (Deschenes) Lemire.
Mr. Lemire received his early education in St. Louis Parochial School, Keith Academy and Northeastern University receiving a degree in Chemistry.
He also served on the faculty of Northeastern University and the school initiated the Bernard L. Lemire Scholarship Fund for graduate students in Chemistry.
He is survived by a sister, Bernice M. Clay of Nashua, NH, formerly of Bradenton, FL; several nieces and nephews. He was a brother of the late Norman Lemire and Joseph R. Lemire.
