PELHAM, NH- Bernard B. 'Ben" Golden, 71, a resident of Pelham, NH passed away at his home on Friday May 11, 2012, following an illness, surrounded by his loving family.
He was the husband of Maureen T. (Buckley) Golden.
Born in Lowell on April 20, 1941, he was a son of the late Francis X. Golden, Sr. and Margaret M. (Bowery) Golden.
In 1959, Ben enlisted in the United States Army serving his country during the Cold War period until his honorable discharge in 1962.
After many years, Ben retired as manager and bartender at the East End Club of Lowell. Ben held membership in the VFW and the American Legion in Pelham and also belonged to the VFW, Walker Rogers Post 662 in Lowell.
In addition to his loving wife Maureen, survivors include her children, Theresa Towne and her husband Michael and their children, Allyson Dupont and Ryan Towne, Franklin Desrochers and Derek Desrochers and his wife Melanie and their child Madison Desrochers; two children of his late fiancée Joan Sturtevant, Darren Sturtevant and his children, Paige and Niles and Don and Joanne Sturtevant and their children, Laia, Kelsey and Kyley; a sister, Mary Beck of Dracut; three brothers-in-law, Raymond Poitras of Lowell, John Buckley of FL and Kevin Buckley of Lowell; a sister-in-law, Lorraine Scott of Boston; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins and friends. He also leaves his loving friend and nurse who cared for him during his illness, Linda Diamantopoulos.
