Beatrice Rachel (Gagnon) Langlois, 98, a longtime Lowell resident, passed away peacefully on Thursday April 19, 2012 at D'Youville Senior Care, surrounded by her loving family. She was married for 46 years to the late Ferdinand J. Langlois who died on August 19, 1982.
Born in Hillsboro, NH on October 3, 1913, she was a daughter of the late Cyrille Gagnon and Sedulie (Croteau) Gagnon.
For many years Beatrice was a knitter at the former Hub Hosiery in Lowell. She was a great seamstress. Beatrice enjoyed walking every day, gardening, knitting and crocheting having made close to fifty afghans for family members. She especially enjoyed family gatherings with her children and grandchildren. "Memere" will be sorely missed by granddaughter, Jillian, having had a very special relationship with her, enjoying daily conversations, reading books together, etc.
Survivors include six daughters, Lorraine and her husband Raymond Pelletier of Lowell, Constance Laurent of Lowell, Jeannette and her husband Donald Desrosiers of Groton, Carol and her husband Guy Demers of Hudson, NH, Barbara and her husband David Jenkins of The Villages, FL and Donna and her husband David Spatola of Pelham, NH; her longtime best friend and sister-in-law, Jeannette Langlois of Lowell; thirteen grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her beloved husband, Beatrice was predeceased by three sisters, Diana Mitchell, Marguerite D'Amour and Theodora Cate; three brothers, Raymond, Julius and Elisey Gagnon. She was also predeceased by her first grandson, Paul R. Pelletier.
