Barbara A. Ortolani

LOWELL - Barbara A. (McDermott) Ortolani, 71, a Lowell resident, died Sunday morning, November 21, 2010, at the Lowell General Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Luigi F. Ortolani.
Born in Lowell on May 31, 1939, she was a daughter of the late James and Irene L. (Leighton) McDermott.
Barbara was an avid gardener and enjoyed trips to the beach, country music and was a great cook. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
She was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church.
Barbara is survived by three sons, Christopher Ortolani and his wife Ellen of N. Billerica, Anthony Ortolani and his wife Michelle of Jacksonville, FL and Keith Ortolani and his girlfriend Jill Davis of Lowell; three daughters, Barbara Gibson of Lowell, Cynthia Spinney and her husband Leonard of Lowell and Lou Ann Diamond and her partner Amer Taher of Tyngsboro; ten grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was the sister of the late Theodore and Robert Eden and mother in law of the late Aubrey "Monty" Gibson who died in June of 2007.
