Barbara R. (Gorman) Milliard, 83, a resident of Dracut, died Monday evening, November 23, 2015, at the Lowell General Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Roland J. Milliard, with whom she shared 60 years of marriage.
Born in Lowell on February 13, 1932, she was a daughter of the late James J. and Florence (Pelletier) Gorman.
Barbara's passion in life was her family. She will always be remembered and loved for her selfless devotion and willingness to always be there. Her family has countless fond memories of her. Her children especially remember the many adventures with her traveling and living across the country and internationally. They marvel to this day how she accomplished this with six young children, often by herself, while her husband served in the military overseas. She was truly a remarkable woman loved by many. She will be missed every day.
She was a long time resident of the Christian Hill section of Lowell where she was a communicant of St. Michael Church.
In addition to her husband Roland, she leaves four sons, Attorney Roland L. Milliard of Dracut, Robert P. Milliard and his wife Susan (Lavallee) of North Andover, Richard J. Milliard and his wife Darlene (O'Flaherty) of Melbourne, FL and Raymond J. Milliard and his wife Julie (McLaughlin) of Windham, NH; two daughters, Katherine I. Malarney of Andover and Theresa M. Kennelly and her husband Joseph of Ramsey, NJ; a brother, George P. Gorman and his wife Darlene of Lowell; a sister, Lorraine Bue of Lowell; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Lambert of Oxford, ME; also various nieces and nephews. She was a sister of the late Jane Reilly and James J. "Sonny" Gorman, Jr. and sister-in-law of the late Carol Pelland.
She will be lovingly remembered by her 14 grandchildren; Casey Villarreal and her wife Naya, Joe, John and Caroline Malarney; Greggory, Alexandra, and Victoria Milliard; Jake, Nathaniel and Meredith Kennelly; Jillian, Jessica and Raymond Milliard and Callie Milliard.
