Barbara J. McKeon

Barbara J. McKeon, 88, a life long resident of Lowell, passed away following a brief illness on Friday, December 16, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.

She was the first baby born in Lowell, MA on January 1, 1934 to Harold and Francis McKeon. 

She was a graduate of Lowell High School and was the vice president of the union at General Electric Corporation. In her prime, she enjoyed her friends at Cappy’s Copper Kettle and the Sac Club. Barbara was a beautiful person inside and out who had the ability to light up any room. She will be forever loved and missed by many.

She is survived by her brother Jimmy McKeon, who she loved dearly, and wife Gail McKeon, her sister Mary Lou Bryn and late husband Bob Bryn, her two daughters, Cheryl Galloway and son-in-law George, Mary Beth Hardy and Family, her grandchildren Justin and Sarah, Taila and Alycia, Jennifer and James, her great grandchild Molly Galloway, her dear friend Alice Galloway and many more loved ones present and past. 

Nana (Babs) was the rock star of our lives, may she rest in peace. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
