SOMERVILLE – Barbara L. (White) Loberg, 70, a longtime resident of Somerville and former resident of Jacksonville, FL passed away peacefully on Friday, June 10, 2016 at Fairhaven Healthcare Center in Lowell. She was the beloved wife of the late John P. Loberg.
She was born in Woburn on July 25, 1945 and was the daughter of the late Laurence and Mary (Melonson) White. She was a graduate of Somerville High School.
Barbara worked for many years as a waitress for several Boston area restaurants, including Harold's Lunchonette in Ball Square, Somerville.
She was an avid scrabble player and she enjoyed playing bingo and calling the bingo games at her senior housing complex. She was also a great cook and was known for her banana bread and blueberry muffins. In her Somerville neighborhood, she was known as "Big B, the BBQ Queen". She had a healthy sense of humor, loved spending summer vacations at Old Orchard Beach, ME, playing board games with her family and eating out.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Graham and Marc Puglisi of Dracut, son and daughter-in-law, Carl Loberg and Ericka Sanfilippo of Saugus; five grandchildren, Yaritsa de la Rosa, Dariana de la Rosa, Monty de la Rosa, Julia Loberg, and Cameron Loberg; a sister, Alice O'Brien of Wilmington; and many adoring nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Lawrence White, Mary Garofalo, Joan Kuhne and Lawrence White, Jr.
