Bana (Wong) Day, passed away at her Lowell residence on August 12, 2014. She was 66.
Bana was born in Shanghai on August 24, 1947, but had emigrated from Taipei to the United States at the age of 23.
Her mother owned a restaurant in New Jersey and that Bana was found of cooking Asian foods with her. She found serenity in her garden and plants. She tried to pass on her green thumb but had little success.
Bana was well read and took pleasure in discussing current events. She enjoyed watching basketball. Most of all Bana cherished her role as mother. She was a humble woman who made sure everyone remembered the previous generation. A kind person who made sure everyone was provided for. She would save for a long time so her children would have a nice Christmas celebration. Family members will remember her for her strength and spirit. She cherished her time with her family. Bana always wanted to return to her beloved Taipei.
Survivors include her three children and their spouses, Christine Day of Pelham, NH, Matthew and Tara Day of Merrimack, NH, Denise Day and her husband Eric Olson of Allenstown, NH; four grandchildren Joshua Anderson, Nathan Anderson, Racine Olson, Logan Day; a sister in law, Catherine Wong of Guam; and many friends. She was also the sister of the late Peter Wong.
