Arthur F. Marchand, 89, husband of the late Jeannette R.
(Portelance) Marchand, a resident of Centralville section of the city, died unexpectedly on Sunday, March 28 at Saints Memorial Medical Center.
Born in Lowell on November 27, 1914, he was a son of the late Elisee and Josephine (Savageau) Marchand. He was a communicant of Ste. Marie Church and received his education in local schools.
Prior to his retirement, Arthur was employed as a painter with Dabco Painting CO. of Lowell.
Arthur was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan.
Surviving him are a son, Richard A. Marchand and his companion, Denise Vieira of Lowell; a granddaughter and her husband, Nicole and Carlos D. Flores of Lowell; a brother, Maurice Marchand and his wife Helen Marchand of Westford; his sisters-in-law, Margie Marchand of Billerica, Germaine Richard and her husband Leo of Lowell and Angie Beecher of Billerica; two great-grandchildren, Matthew and Natalia Flores; two step-great-grandchildren, Carlos Flores, Jr. and Craig Flores. He was the brother of the late Cora, Lillian, Loretta, Eva, Edgar, Leo, Henry and Raymond.
