SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Arthur F. Lyons, 76, a resident of Savannah, Georgia, died Friday, April 8, 2005 at the Savannah Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. He was the husband of Eleanor (Tambolleo)(Richards) Lyons.
Born in Lowell on March 31, 1929, he was a son of the late Harry D. and Margaret (Riley) Lyons.
Mr. Lyons attended Lowell Schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School.
He served with the United States Army during the Korean War and held the rank of Sergeant.
A Lowell resident for many years, Mr. Lyons retired from the former New England Telephone Company after 35 years of service, most of which he served as a lineman.
He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, and he enjoyed bowling for the telephone bowling league. He was also a social member of the Mount Pleasant Golf Club for many years.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy A. and Debra A. (Foley) Lyons of Dracut and David F. and Andrea (Demetroulakos) Lyons of Scituate, MA; a daughter and son-in-law, Vallery E. and Paul H. Brown of Norwalk, CT; a brother, Harry D. Lyons of Sarasota, FL; a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Robert Bailey of Lowell; six grandchildren, Dawn and Daniel Lyons of Dracut, Paul and Samantha Brown of Norwalk, CT and Kyle and Sydnie Lyons of Scituate; also several nieces and nephews. He was the husband of the late Vivian E. (Stewart) Lyons and brother of the late Paul Lyons.
